“Transhumanism” is a Futurist philosophy that believes in the near future evolution of our species. This particular transformation will surpass our existing symbiosis with the tech around us to an even further enhanced level. The idea of an extended life cycle, artificial intelligence and bodily enhancements are all not only going to be limited to our imagination.
STORIES FROM THE METROPOLIS imagines the possibility of this future, extracts “Transhumanism” from the core concept and curates a series of programming surrounding it to communicate the possibility of this idea. This multimedia exhibition features talents of different backgrounds in our “H+” Art Installation, Visual Art Showcase, Workshop Series and RE:HUMAN, a science fiction dance film.
“H+” is a sculpture that collectively displays man and machine interaction. The sculpture is discovered tipping at its edge, finding its balance in the evolving spectrum of this relationship. The veil is thin between the physical and virtual realm. Sooner or later the barrier that separates the two might be no more.
We are at a crossroad whereby one side has adapted to the new norms of the world and the other resisting it. The divide is found within our loved ones, friends and our communities as a whole.
“H+” best represents mankind on where we stand as of now. Undecided, anxious and just a slip away from tipping over to favour one side. This art installation invites the audiences to ponder upon the possibilities of the near future. The decision is yours.
“Metaverse 2088” is a series of artwork, where we unite visual and verbal messages in the form of interactive displays. News titles & captions cover topics discussed in the Metaverse in the year 2088. It is also our attempt to foresee the involvement of global corporations of today in future matters as far as 60 years from now. Bionic body parts, neural interfaces for controlling computers with the mind, coexisting real and Augmented Reality worlds, molecular food printers, intelligent organic and virtual pets, harvesting renewable types of energy and self-driving global taxi service – that is the reality of 2088, as we have envisioned in our futurist universe.
